How we handle your information when you apply, visit, or use the beta.

Who we are and what this covers

Movie Pick is a beta movie recommendation service operated by Kamil Imtiaz. This notice covers our public website, beta applications, Movie Pick forms on Facebook and Instagram, and use of the Movie Pick beta. Contact us at hello@trymoviepick.com with privacy questions or requests.

Information we collect

We do not ask for your streaming-service passwords or payment details in the beta application. Please do not include sensitive personal information in prompts or feedback.

How we use information

We use information to review applications, manage invitations and beta access, provide movie recommendations, remember preferences, send application and beta-related emails, respond to requests, troubleshoot problems, and improve the service. We use signup and usage information to understand which channels bring applicants and how people use Movie Pick. Applying does not guarantee a beta spot.

Facebook and Instagram applications

If you submit a Movie Pick Instant Form, Meta collects the information you provide and makes your responses available to Movie Pick. We use those responses to review your application and contact you about beta access and feedback. Meta processes information under its own Privacy Policy. Submitting a form does not automatically create an approved beta account.

Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

The public website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, traffic sources, and actions such as starting or completing an application. Our application tracking does not send your name, email address, or application answers to Google Analytics. An anonymous submission ID can accompany a successful new-application event.

We use browser storage to retain referral information, with a 30-day first-visit attribution window and a 30-minute session window. Source information saved with an application remains part of that application record. The beta also uses browser storage and authentication mechanisms to support your session and app state.

You can control cookies and site storage in your browser. Blocking analytics or clearing storage may affect measurement, attribution, or saved preferences. Google explains its processing at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services; it also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Services that process information

Movie Pick uses service providers to operate the product. These include OpenAI Sites and its hosting infrastructure for hosting, account access, and storage; Google Gmail for application and beta emails; Google Analytics for public website measurement; and OpenAI API services to process movie requests and relevant preference context. Movie-data providers receive searches or title identifiers needed to look up movie information. Meta processes applications submitted through its own forms.

Information is available to the Movie Pick operator and providers as needed for these functions. Processing may take place outside your country. External streaming, trailer, and other websites have their own privacy practices when you visit them.

How long information stays

Application records, application-email records, beta account data, and activity history are currently retained during the beta unless deleted. Archiving or declining an application does not delete its underlying record. There is not currently a fixed automatic deletion schedule for unsuccessful applications. Browser attribution windows described above do not delete server-side application records.

You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. Some information may need to remain to address security issues, resolve disputes, or meet applicable legal obligations, and copies held in provider logs or backups may remain until those systems remove them.

Your choices and requests

Email hello@trymoviepick.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, or to ask us to stop beta-related emails. Please use the email address associated with your application or account. We may ask for information needed to verify your request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to object to certain processing or contact your local privacy authority.

Security and children

We use access controls to restrict the application inbox and owner dashboard. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Beta applications are intended to be completed by adults. Please do not submit a child's contact information or sensitive details. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the beta changes. The date at the top identifies the latest update. We will provide additional notice where required.
